One year of aggression on Gaza: Israeli Occupation expands its war to Lebanon
One year into the ongoing Israeli Occupation aggression on Gaza, the death toll has reached 41,870, with 97,166 wounded since Oct. 7, 2023.
For one continuous year, the Israeli Occupation committed widespread atrocities against civilians in Gaza, openly defying international laws and treaties. Despite global calls from international courts and organizations to halt the assault, provide aid, and treat the injured, the "Israeli" government continues its actions.
In related developments, the Israeli Occupation Forces also targeted residential areas in Lebanon, threatening villagers and demanding evacuations.
Key developments in the aggression on Lebanon and Palestine:
- "Israeli" army: Two suspicious objects launched from the east were intercepted.

The Israeli Occupation announced it had surrounded the Jabalia area in Gaza and redeployed the 162nd Division from Rafah to Jabalia after completing its mission in the south.
"Israeli" Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu acknowledged that "Israel" had suffered a significant blow a year ago, claiming his army has since worked to "change the reality." He boasted that "Israeli" soldiers are dismantling Hezbollah’s infrastructure, which he said was built to attack Tel Aviv.
On Sunday night, the Israeli Occupation carried out airstrikes on southern Beirut, targeting the Saint Therese and Burj Al-Barajneh areas.
According to Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA), southern Beirut was hit by more than 30 airstrikes from Saturday night into Sunday, marking one of the most intense bombardments to date.
- One year of genocide in Gaza -
Amid the ongoing violence, the Gaza Government Information Office released grim statistics detailing the impact of what they describe as a year of genocide. Since the assault began, the Israeli Occupation Forces committed 3,654 massacres.
The total number of martyrs and missing persons stands at 51,870, including 10,000 missing individuals. The Ministry of Health reported that 41,870 martyrs were confirmed dead at hospitals, including 16,927 children. Among the dead were 171 infants who were born and perished during the war.
The statistics revealed that 902 Palestinian families were completely wiped out, and 36 people died from starvation. Additionally, 11,487 women, 986 medical personnel, 85 civil defense workers, and 175 journalists were killed.
Seven mass graves were established inside hospitals by the Israeli Occupation Forces, where 520 bodies were recovered. Hospitals treated 97,166 injured people, including 396 journalists and media workers.
The data showed that 69 percent of the casualties were women and children. Israeli Occupation Forces also targeted 187 shelters, intensifying the suffering of Palestinians. As a result of the war, 25,973 children were left without one or both parents.
- Rising "Israeli" soldier casualties -
The IOF reported that the number of its soldiers killed since October 7 has risen to 727, with 347 killed since the ground invasion began on October 27.
According to the IOF, 4,590 "Israeli" soldiers have been injured during the war. These include 2,746 with minor injuries, 1,149 with moderate injuries, and 695 with serious injuries.
- Operation Aqsa Typhoon -
Hamas’s military wing, Al-Qassam Brigades, launched Operation Aqsa Typhoon on Oct. 7, 2023, in response to the Israeli Occupation violations in the occupied Palestinian territories.
In retaliation, "Israel" launched a military operation in Gaza named Swords of Iron War, conducting violent airstrikes across the Strip.
These airstrikes resulted in hundreds of deaths, thousands of injuries, and extensive destruction of buildings, towers, and infrastructure.
