Lebanon reports 1,030 dead since Sept. 16
Lebanon’s Minister of Public Health, Dr. Firass Abiad, presented a detailed report on the casualties resulting from Israeli Occupation attacks during a press conference held at the Ministry of Health.
The report also addressed the services provided to the increasing number of displaced individuals due to ongoing airstrikes on southern Beirut.
The overall toll of the attacks, which began on October 8, 2023, is as follows:
Total deaths: 1,640, including 104 children and 194 women.
Total injured: 8,408.
The minister also highlighted that many victims remain trapped under rubble, with others still missing. He then broke down the figures over specific periods:
Between October 8, 2023, and September 15, 2024:
Deaths: 610, including 38 women and 17 children.
Injuries: 2,056.
Between September 16 and September 27, 2024:
Deaths: 1,030, including 56 women and 87 children.
Injuries: 6,352.
In the healthcare sector, Dr. Abiad noted the loss of 41 healthcare or emergency workers since the aggression began, with 111 others injured.
