Iran has refrained from launching an attack against “Israel”, following petitions from Hezbollah to join the fighting as the cross-border fire dramatically increased over the past week.

Iran vowed heavily to retaliate for the killing of Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran. But two months later, nothing has come to fruition and their response to Hezbollah’s request was not “positive” according to the reports.

Iranian President Pezeshkian, commenting on the recent wide-ranging attack on Lebanon, said his country does not want to fall into the “Israeli” trap of igniting a wider war in the region.
