United States President Joe Biden, from the 79th United Nations General Assembly debate, said that now is the time to “finalize a deal” in the Gaza Strip and “end this war”.

Biden added that Hezbollah joined the “October 7th attack unprovoked”.

“Now is the time for the parties to finalize its terms,” he said of the deal brokered by the United States, Qatar and Egypt.

The deal will “bring the hostages home and secure security for Israel and Gaza free from Hamas's grip, ease the suffering in Gaza and end this war.”

Speaking from the UN headquarters in New York, Biden further warned that “Iran will never never obtain a nuclear weapon.”

He warned against “full-scale war” in Lebanon, as cross-border fire between Hezbollah and the “Israeli” military continues to escalate.

"Full-scale war is not in anyone's interest. Even though the situation has escalated, a diplomatic solution is still possible," Biden said to the UN General Assembly.

On Ukraine, Biden said that “Putin’s war has failed”.

"Putin's war has failed at its core aim. He set out to destroy Ukraine, but Ukraine is still free," Biden said.

He urged the United Nations to keep supporting Kyiv until it is victorious.

The theme for the general debate of the 79th session of the General Assembly is "Leaving no one behind: acting together for the advancement of peace, sustainable development and human dignity for present and future generations".
