Foreign Ministry updates on Jordanians in Lebanon
The spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ambassador Sufyan Qudah, confirmed that the ministry is monitoring the situation of Jordanians in Lebanon through dedicated hotlines.
He stated to Roya that the ministry reiterates its call for Jordanians in Lebanon to leave the country immediately for their safety, emphasizing that all Jordanians there are safe.
He mentioned that 1,199 Jordanian citizens have registered in Lebanon, along with 2,541 accompanying individuals of other nationalities who have registered on the ministry's platform since the crisis began.
Qudah explained that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been focusing on the Jordanian community in Lebanon in anticipation of any military developments in the region.
He noted that official figures from the Lebanese side indicate there are 2,600 Jordanian citizens in Lebanon; however, the ministry estimates the actual number to be around 4,000 due to challenging registration conditions.
"We are committed to providing all necessary support and assistance to Jordanian citizens there," he said. "Currently, there is the option to leave by land through the sister Arab Republic of Syria or via some airlines that are still operating flights."
He added that the embassy is receiving calls around the clock and expressed surprise at discovering some citizens in southern Lebanese villages, informing them to follow the instructions of the relevant Lebanese authorities.
He urged Jordanian citizens residing or currently in Lebanon to register immediately on the Jordanian embassy's website in Beirut at the following link.
