These devices are employed in various applications, such as:

  • Marine Communications: For navigation and safety on ships.
  • Aviation Communications: For communication between pilots and air traffic control.
  • Land Communications: For rescue teams, police, military, and businesses requiring wireless communication in extensive environments.
  • Amateur Radio: For hobbyists communicating over long or short radio waves.
  • ICOM devices are known for their high quality and efficiency in transmitting voice over long distances and under harsh conditions.

Earlier Wednesday, Roya's correspondent reported that initial information indicates the explosion of several ICOM communication devices in southern Lebanon. This incident resulted in the deaths of three people and injuries to more than 100.

The correspondent also noted that the exploded devices were ICOM V82 models, distinct from the "pagers" that exploded on Tuesday, which led to the deaths of 11 Lebanese and injuries to over 3,000 people.
