Upcoming public holiday: Day off in Jordan soon

10:42 2024-09-12|The Jordanian government has announced a public holiday on Monday, Sept. 16, 2024, in celebration of Prophet Muhammad’s day of birth.
All ministries, public institutions, universities, municipalities, and government-owned companies will observe the holiday.
The occasion, which falls on the 12th of Rabi' al-Awwal in the Islamic calendar, is marked by Muslims worldwide as a time of reflection on the life and teachings of the Prophet Muhammad.
Many Islamic nations commemorate the day with religious ceremonies, including recitations of praises and sermons in mosques.
