Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan condemned Friday what he called "Israel's barbaric intervention" which led to the death of a US-Turkish dual national activist in the West Bank.

"I condemn Israel's barbaric intervention against a demonstration against the occupation in the West Bank and I pray for God's mercy for our citizen Aysenur Ezgi Eygi, who lost her life in the attack," Erdogan said on X.

US-Turkish dual national Aysenur Ezgi Eygi died on Friday after succumbing to critical injuries due to being shot in the head by Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) in the town of Beita, south of Nablus, in the West Bank.

The activist was shot during the weekly Beita protest against 'Israeli' settlements, where the IOF worked to suppress the demonstration.

Emergency crews rushed her to Rafidia Hospital in Nablus, where she was placed in intensive care. Despite doctors' efforts, she passed away due to the severity of her injuries.

The protest in Beita escalated into clashes, during which Israeli Occupation Forces fired live bullets, stun grenades, and tear gas at participants.

Eygi was hit by live ammunition in the head, and an 18-year-old youth was also injured by shrapnel in the leg.

The slain was a volunteer with the "Fazaa" campaign, which supports and protects Palestinian farmers from the violations of Israeli Occupation Forces and settlers.
