Many people aspire to follow a diet that allows them to enjoy their favorite foods without weight gain or health issues. However, when it comes to potatoes, many avoid them due to concerns about high calories.

Nutrition expert Nuriya Dianova revealed that 100 grams of bread contain 40-60 grams of carbohydrates, while 100 grams of potatoes have only 16-17 grams. Potatoes are also rich in magnesium, iron, and Vitamin B1, which benefits the nervous system.

She highlighted that potatoes are generally healthier than white rice because they contain more magnesium and dietary fiber, which improve gut health. While rice is a common staple, potatoes offer additional nutritional benefits, making them a better choice for those looking to boost their nutrient intake.

For a balanced diet, Dianova suggests a daily serving of 100-120 grams of potatoes, along with protein and vegetables. She also noted that boiled or baked potatoes are healthier options compared to fried ones, which can raise blood sugar levels and accelerate aging.
