Karak Municipality renames street in honor of Ismail Haniyeh

The Greater Karak Municipality Council decided to rename one of its main streets in honor of Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the political bureau of Hamas, who was recently killed in an Israeli Occupation airstrike in Iran.

The council emphasized in a statement on Wednesday that the decision is a tribute to the "noble principles" for which Haniyeh was known. 

The street renaming is intended to reflect his commitment to advancing the Arab nation and the Palestinian cause, as well as his efforts for freedom, dignity, and humanity. 

The council's action is also seen as a gesture to strengthen the bond between Jordanian and Palestinian peoples and to recognize their collective resilience against what they describe as "oppressive Zionist aggression."
