Israel’s Olympic flagbearer under fire over alleged bomb signing

Peter Paltchik, Israel's male flagbearer at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, is under scrutiny after reports surfaced that he signed bombs before they were fired at Palestinian targets in Gaza.

The 32-year-old judoka posted a message on social media showing him writing "From me to you with pleasure" on munitions, according to Anadolu Agency.

Paltchik, born in Ukraine, achieved significant success in judo, becoming the European champion in Prague in 2020 and securing a bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021. That same year, he was ranked as the world number one in men's judo.
