CIA officials believe Yahya Sinwar hiding in tunnels in Khan Younis

U.S. intelligence officials believe Hamas Chief Yahya Sinwar is hiding in the tunnels beneath Khan Younis in south Gaza – per a CNN report. 

The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) assesses that Sinwar is currently facing increased pressure from Hamas’ military commanders to accept a ceasefire deal and end the war in Gaza – according to a source who attended a closed-door meeting with CIA Director Bill Burns. 

Burns added that Sinwar is “not concerned with his mortality” but the pressure he faces is because of the enormity of the suffering and humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip. 

The CIA declined to comment on CNN’s report.
