“Israeli” army launch new operation in Gaza City, says it’s operating in UNRWA HQ
The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) confirmed today launching a new operation in Tal al-Hawa neighborhood in Gaza city overnight, after what it claimed to be intelligence pointing to Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) infrastructure and in the area.
The IOF also said it is operating at UNRWA’s headquarters, adding that it includes weapon caches and detention and interrogation rooms used by the Palestinian resistance.
The IOF claimed it warned Palestinians in the area and that it would open up a humanitarian corridor for civilians to leave the area.
“The IDF will continue to act in accordance with international law and against the Hamas and PIJ terror organizations, who systematically operate and carry out terrorist activity from inside civilian infrastructure, including UNRWA compounds, which are used by them to plan and carry out terror activity against the State of Israel,” the IOF said in a statement.
