Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman emphasized on Friday that an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip is the only way to de-escalate tensions on all fronts.

During a press conference with his Spanish counterpart, Abdulrahman stated that Qatar is working to secure a ceasefire agreement and negotiate a prisoner exchange deal.

He described Spain's recognition of the State of Palestine as a historic and significant step, sending a message against double standards.

"We have noticed some gaps between Hamas's response to Biden's proposal and what was actually presented," he added.
