The Foreign Ministry announced the issuance of 68 burial permits for Jordanian pilgrims who passed away while performing Hajj, allowing them to be buried in Mecca according to their families' wishes.

Ambassador Dr. Sufian Qudah, Director of the Directorate of Operations and Consular Affairs, stated that the relevant Saudi authorities have started the burial procedures, including washing, shrouding, praying over, and burying the bodies.

Dr. Qudah added that 91 Jordanian pilgrims had been found out of 107 listed as missing. Among them, 22 are hospitalized in Saudi Arabia, including seven in critical condition. Arrangements are being made to transfer them to Jordan for treatment as soon as their health permits. The Jordanian Consulate team in Jeddah, currently in Mecca, visited all the patients to check on their health.

The Directorate of Operations and Consular Affairs and the Jordanian Consulate team in Mecca have maintained continuous contact with the families of the deceased and missing pilgrims. The consulate team has continued to provide consular services to the located pilgrims and monitor their health conditions with the Saudi authorities.

The search for 16 missing Jordanian pilgrims is ongoing, with joint efforts from the ministry's crisis cell, working around the clock in coordination with the Jordanian Consulate in Jeddah, the Jordanian Embassy in Riyadh, the Jordanian Awqaf Hajj mission, and the Saudi authorities.

Dr. Qudah expressed his deepest condolences to the families of the deceased pilgrims, praying for God's mercy and forgiveness for them. He also thanked the Saudi authorities for their efforts in searching for the missing, providing medical care to Jordanian pilgrims, and assisting the Jordanian consulate team in Mecca.
