Weather forecasts suggest a slight dip in temperatures on Sunday, which marks the first day of Eid Al-Adha. Despite this minor decrease, the weather will continue to be intensely hot across all regions.

Jordan is currently experiencing a heatwave that began on Thursday, with the latest weather updates indicating that the extreme temperatures will persist throughout the Eid Al-Adha holiday. The entire country is expected to endure hot to very hot weather during this period.

Maximum temperatures are anticipated to soar to the mid to late 40°C in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba.

Nighttime conditions will remain warmer than usual, with some scattered clouds expected. Winds will be light to moderate from the northwest.

The hot to very hot weather is predicted to persist in most parts of the Kingdom for the rest of the Eid holiday. There is a slight chance of showers in parts of the southern and eastern Badia, possibly accompanied by thunder and dust. Winds will be light and variable, shifting to moderate northwesterly in the afternoon with occasional active gusts.

Public Advisory:

  • Avoid direct exposure to sunlight.
  • Drink plenty of water and fluids.
  • Do not leave children inside closed vehicles, even for a short time.
  • Do not leave flammable materials inside vehicles for extended periods.
  • Safely dispose of cigarettes to prevent fires.
  • Exercise caution while driving on desert roads in the afternoon due to dust.
  • Wear loose, light-colored clothing.
