Jordanians celebrate Silver Jubilee with national event
The Jordanian public celebrates the Silver Jubilee of His Majesty King Abdullah II's ascension to the throne and assumption of constitutional powers today, June 9.
Earlier, the Royal Court announced a national event to commemorate this occasion on Sunday. The celebration reflects the Jordanians' appreciation for their leader and their pride in the nation's progress and achievements under King Abdullah II's leadership. His Majesty has often stated that the accomplishments of the past 25 years are due to the efforts of the nation's sons and daughters and belong to everyone.
The event will highlight Jordan's achievements over the past quarter-century and emphasize the citizens' determination to continue modernization, development, and building on past successes. It will reinforce their commitment to the prosperous and resilient journey of the nation.
His Majesty King Abdullah II will address the Jordanian family during the national event, coinciding with the 25th Royal Sitting Anniversary. In his speech, King Abdullah II will discuss the progress made by Jordan, driven by the dedication of its people, according to a statement from the Royal Court.
The event is scheduled to start at 6 PM in the area adjacent to the King Hussein Business Park.
His Majesty King Abdullah II received congratulatory messages from leaders of brotherly and friendly countries on the 25th Royal Sitting Anniversary. The messages expressed sincere congratulations and wished for continued prosperity for His Majesty and the Jordanian people.
His Majesty also received congratulatory messages from senior civilian and military officials and representatives of official and popular entities on this national occasion and the anniversaries of the Great Arab Revolt and Army Day.
Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II received similar messages for these national occasions.
