Jordan, UAE condemn Israeli Occupation actions in Jerusalem

Jordan's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi, along with Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, condemned the ongoing incursions by Israeli Occupation Forces into the Al-Aqsa Mosque/Al-Haram Al-Sharif, especially noting a recent intrusion by an extremist Israeli Occupation minister and Knesset members under police protection.

During phone conversations on Wednesday, the ministers also denounced the Israeli Occupationgovernment's allowance of the so-called Flag March in occupied Jerusalem, highlighting the aggression towards Palestinians, extremist racial practices, and restrictions on worshippers accessing Al-Aqsa Mosque and moving within the Old City.

Safadi and Sheikh Abdullah emphasized the legal obligations of Tel Aviv, as the occupying power, to cease unlawful actions that undermine the prospects for a just, lasting, and comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution.

They reiterated that the entire expanse of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, spanning 144 dunams, is a site of worship solely for Muslims and stressed the need for Tel Aviv to respect the historical and legal status of Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.

Sheikh Abdullah also highlighted the importance of the Hashemite custodianship over Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, praising its role in protecting the identity of these Arab, Islamic, and Christian sanctuaries.
