Hamas reveals details of ambush in Gaza

The military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), Al-Qassam Brigades, released a video showing the luring of an “Israeli” army unit, resulting in the capture of soldiers and the injury and death of others on May 25.

The video said that after luring “Israeli” soldiers into one of the tunnels, as soon as the Hamas fighters exited, the resistance fighters advanced to the ambush site.

It added: "According to the pre-agreed plan, upon the arrival of the Israeli soldiers at the ambush site inside the tunnel, Al-Qassam elements engaged them at point-blank range, eliminating two soldiers and detonating the tunnel entrance.”

Subsequently, the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) dug the area around the tunnel entrance, believing that Al-Qassam members had withdrawn from inside it.

Al-Qassam members had hidden inside the tunnel and planted several disguised explosive devices within it – according to the video narrating the events.

The IOF then deployed reinforcements into the tunnel. After one of the devices was triggered and was within range of Al-Qassam members, they opened fire from point-blank range, detonating the device.

Al-Qassam members then detonated the tunnel after withdrawing from it, leaving several “Israeli” soldiers killed, wounded, and captured, in addition to seizing several equipment from the IOF’s soldiers.
