Amman Public Prosecutor detains student's guardian for alleged assault on teacher

Thursday, the Amman Public Prosecutor took action by detaining a student’s guardian for a week following allegations of assaulting a school teacher in the Nazzal neighborhood of the capital city during the resolution of a student altercation.

A source close to the investigation revealed that the public prosecutor has levied charges against the student’s guardian for assaulting a public employee and causing harm, among other offenses.

The investigation into the incident involving the student’s guardian has commenced, while the other two students involved have been referred to the Juvenile Public Prosecutor for further inquiry.

A video depicting the assault on the teacher amid a student altercation circulated widely on social media platforms, drawing public attention to the incident.

In response, the Ministry of Education issued a statement affirming its commitment to imposing deterrent penalties on the students involved in the aggression. The Ministry emphasized that it would not hesitate to take necessary actions against anyone who jeopardizes the fundamental educational principles and values crucial for realizing its vision and mission.
