Engineer Iman Awad, Director of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Directorate at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, announced Wednesday that Iraq has approved the extension of the memorandum of understanding for supplying Iraqi oil to Jordan for an additional three months under the same contractual terms and price.

Awad added that Jordan has taken all the necessary steps and is currently coordinating with the Iraqi side to complete the procedures for starting the loading of crude oil from Kirkuk to the Jordan Petroleum Refinery in Zarqa.

She added that it is expected that the supply will begin in the next few days, noting that the Iraqi side has been approached to renew the memorandum of understanding for supplying Iraqi oil to Jordan for a year.

This renewal would commence from the date of completion of loading the remaining quantities under the current memorandum of understanding, which is expected to be loaded during the aforementioned extension period.
