Iranian Armed Forces Chief orders investigation into President Raisi's helicopter accident

The Chief of General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, Major General Mohammad Bagheri, has called for an investigation into President Ebrahim Raisi's helicopter accident.

He instructed the army, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, and the police leadership to utilize all available resources to investigate and assist the helicopter carrying the president and his entourage.

Search operations are ongoing for the helicopter that was carrying President Ebrahim Raisi when it experienced an "accident" in northwestern Iran.

State television reported that the helicopter carrying the president encountered an accident in the Julfa region of East Azerbaijan Province.

Iranian Interior Minister Ahmad Vahidi explained the "hard landing" of a helicopter carrying President Ebrahim Raisi in the Julfa region of East Azerbaijan Province, located in northwest Iran.

Vahidi stated on Sunday that there had been contact with the president's entourage, but due to communication challenges in the area, they were awaiting more information from the rescue teams upon their arrival at the landing site.

He mentioned that one of the helicopters had to make a difficult landing, prompting rescue teams to respond from both sides of the region. The adverse weather conditions would delay the completion of their mission.
