19 dead in local drowning incidents since beginning of 2024

Since the beginning of 2024, the Civil Defense Directorate has responded to 43 drowning incidents across all governorates, 19 people have died while 33 were injured.

Many of these cases involve children and adolescents, and among the contributing factors to these drowning accidents is swimming in private residences where pools lack proper safety conditions.

The rescue teams arrive at the incident sites within an average of eight minutes, emphasizing the critical importance of swift action.

It is crucial to closely supervise children and prevent them from swimming in deep agricultural ponds without proper safety measures in place.

As summer begins, the Civil Defense teams continue to respond to distress calls related to drowning incidents, particularly in agricultural pools, where the risk of drowning is significant.
