Infant child murdered by her father in Irbid

A father murdered his infant child in the city of Irbid, after beating and abusing her for several days before committing the horrific crime – per Roya’s correspondent.

The child was taken today to the hospital after sustaining serious injuries from being beaten, and her father pouring boiling water on her body, according to relatives, shortly before she passed away.

Security agencies have launched an investigation into the incident, with the father of the baby being arrested – investigations are currently ongoing.

The baby was born on April 30, 2024 and was admitted to a hospital in the governorate of Irbid due to burns on her lower limbs as a result of hot water spillage – according to the Public Security Directorate (PSD) spokesperson.

He added that immediate action was taken to transfer the baby to the hospital, with preliminary investigations indicating that the burns inflicted on the child were by her father. Under the influence of alcohol, he allegedly held the child and placed her feet in hot water, threatening her mother not to tell anyone.

The father of the child, who had been in hiding, was arrested in coordination with the Criminal Investigation Department, and the investigation has begun.

This morning, the Family and Juvenile Protection Department in Irbid Governorate was informed by the hospital, where the child was being treated, of her death due to the injuries she sustained. Upon the completion of all investigations, the case will be referred to the judiciary.
