Saturday evening, the security services detained Maysara Malas, an activist from the Islamic trade union, and Ziad Ibhais, the secretary of the National Forum for Supporting the Resistance, as confirmed by lawyer Hala Ahed.

Ahed stated that along with Malas and Ibhais, other individuals were also arrested near the Al-Kalouti Mosque in the Rabieh area, where nightly sit-ins have been ongoing since last week.

Naeem Jaabo, a member of the National Forum for Supporting the Resistance, mentioned that Mutaz Al-Harout, the head of the youth sector in the Islamic Action Front Party, along with Hamza Al-Shaghnoubi, Muhammad Abu Hajar, and Abdul Rahman Abu Sharkh, were among those arrested.

Roya couldn't verify this information with the Public Security Directorate or clarify the reasons for the arrests.

There have been complaints from activists and columnists regarding the deviation of Gaza support marches from their peaceful nature, leading to unlawful activities. Riots also erupted in the Baqaa camp, prompting police intervention.

Since the start of the aggression against Gaza on October 7, 2023, the Jordanian community has been organizing solidarity vigils across various governorates in support of the people in Gaza.

These large-scale demonstrations have been instrumental in backing Jordan's official stance against the aggression, advocating for a comprehensive ceasefire, and urging the unconditional delivery of humanitarian aid.
