The spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate announced that the Anti-Cybercrime Unit of the Criminal Investigation Department has apprehended three individuals involved in defrauding multiple citizens through online scams.

The scammers utilized email communication to trick victims into believing they could earn financial gains by performing daily tasks.

Victims were coerced into creating electronic wallets for fraudulent activities, including transferring funds to digital currency trading platforms abroad and depositing money to receive profits and interest, ultimately transferring them out of the country.

The Cybercrime Unit emphasized caution when dealing with suspicious platforms promising profits for tasks and advises safeguarding personal and banking information to prevent falling victim to online financial scams.
