Amman Municipality employee arrested for bribery charges

A data entry employee at the Amman Municipality was arrested on charges of accepting a bribe from a citizen, according to Roya correspondent.

The Public Integrity and Anti-Corruption Prosecutor ordered the employee's one-week detention at the Marka Correction and Rehabilitation Center.

Allegedly, the employee misled a citizen seeking a store license, promising expedited processing in exchange for a sum of money.

The Anti-Corruption Authority apprehended the employee in the act of receiving the bribe after the citizen reported the incident.

The Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission urge citizens to report any instances of corruption for appropriate legal action.
