Driver arrested after causing accident involving traffic sergeant

The security authorities successfully apprehended a driver involved in a traffic incident with a traffic sergeant, as depicted in a circulating video clip.

The spokesperson of the Public Security Directorate said that the incident occurred on Monday when a video surfaced on social media showing a traffic sergeant being involved in an accident caused by a vehicle. The sergeant was subsequently hospitalized in moderate condition.

The spokesperson elaborated that the incident took place while the traffic sergeant was performing his duties on a street in Amman. Upon noticing a vehicle lacking license plates, he attempted to stop it, but the driver evaded compliance, prompting the sergeant to pursue. Suddenly, the driver changed lanes, resulting in a collision with the sergeant's motorcycle. Subsequently, the driver fled the scene.

Following the accident and the sergeant's hospitalization, an investigative team promptly gathered information, enabling the identification and arrest of the vehicle's driver. Investigations have commenced with the aim of referring him to the appropriate legal authorities.
