The Hebrew newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth reported on Wednesday that mediators involved in the Cairo negotiations proposed a temporary ceasefire in Gaza as a trust-building measure. Despite ongoing negotiations, no agreement has been reached yet.

Hamas released a statement expressing its willingness to negotiate and its flexibility in seeking a comprehensive ceasefire agreement. However, it criticized the occupation for not fully committing to the terms of the agreement, particularly regarding a permanent ceasefire, the return of displaced individuals, withdrawal from Gaza, and meeting the needs of the Palestinian people.

Hamas leader Osama Hamdan emphasized the movement's commitment to negotiations and outlined its vision for completing a captive exchange deal with Tel Aviv. He reiterated Hamas' stance on ceasefire, complete withdrawal of Israeli Occupation Forces from Gaza, return of displaced individuals, and commencement of reconstruction efforts.

Hamdan criticized the occupation for employing delaying tactics in negotiations, asserting that what they couldn't achieve militarily, they won't achieve through talks.
