The Israeli Occupation's War Cabinet agreed on Saturday to send an "Israeli" delegation to Qatar soon to continue the discussions held recently in Paris, aiming to reach a new humanitarian pause agreement in the Gaza Strip, which includes the release of captives.

Led by Mossad chief David Barnea, the Israeli Occupation delegation had visited Paris on Friday to follow up and deliberate on a humanitarian pause proposal that had been previously discussed at the end of December/January in Paris. These discussions involved counterparts from the United States and Egypt, along with the Prime Minister of Qatar.

Tzachi Hanegbi, the Head of the National Security Council of the Israeli Occupation, stated on Saturday that "the delegation has returned from Paris, and there may be an opportunity to move towards reaching an agreement."

He mentioned that the delegation had requested to brief the War Cabinet on the outcomes of the Paris summit. Consequently, a telephone meeting of the War Council was convened on Saturday evening for this purpose.

The War Cabinet concluded its meeting by approving the dispatch of a delegation to Qatar in the coming days to continue negotiations aimed at securing a humanitarian pause agreement lasting several weeks. This agreement would involve the release of captives in exchange for Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli Occupation jails, according to Hebrew media.

The Israeli Occupation is adamant about the release of all captives detained since Operation Aqsa Typhoon on October 7, particularly women. Hanegbi emphasized that while such an agreement would be significant, it would not signify the end of the war.

In Tel Aviv, thousands gathered Saturday evening at "Prisoners' Square" to demand the release of captives in Gaza. Meanwhile, another demonstration near army headquarters protested against the government's policy, resulting in the arrest of 18 individuals by the police.

At the end of November, a humanitarian pause facilitated by Qatar, Egypt, and the United States led to the release of over 100 captives in Gaza and 240 Palestinian prisoners. Hamas has called for a ceasefire, the withdrawal of Israeli Occupation Forces from Gaza, and the lifting of the blockade on the strip.
