The Aqaba Governorate Council recently earmarked JD 750,000 for the rehabilitation and upkeep of the Prince Hamzah Sports City, with the goal of aligning it with international standards.

This investment aims to position the city as a destination capable of attracting global sports teams and clubs, leveraging its coastal charm to intertwine sports with tourism.

In addition to this, Chairman Imad Amro announced that 2024 has been designated as the Year of Entrepreneurship and Youth. As part of this initiative, JD 100,000 has been allocated for the construction of a legal playground in the Al-Qweira district, catering to the leisurely needs of the local youth.

During the council's monthly session, attended by Aqaba Governor Khaled Al-Hajjaj, further support was pledged. A sum of JD 250,000 was approved to assist the Addiction Treatment Center in expediting land allocation, in collaboration with the Public Security Directorate.

Amro proudly highlighted the council's achievements, noting that they secured the top spot nationwide with an impressive accomplishment rate of 84 percent.
