His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan expressed grave concerns over Israeli Occupation's intention to attack Rafah, a city where approximately 1.5 million people have sought refuge amid the ongoing crisis in Gaza.

Speaking alongside French President Emmanuel Macron during a joint press conference in Paris on Friday, the King emphasized the urgent need for a complete ceasefire in Gaza.

"If Israel were to attack Rafah, it would have catastrophic humanitarian consequences that are unacceptable," King Abdullah stated, highlighting the dire situation facing civilians in the besieged Gaza.

The King also underscored the importance of preventing the conflict from spreading further across the region, warning of the far-reaching impacts of the destructive war in Gaza and escalating tensions in the West Bank and Jerusalem.

"Only a political solution leading to peace based on the two-state solution can ensure the security of Palestinians, Israelis, and the entire region," King Abdullah asserted.

The King expressed appreciation for France's pivotal role in seeking a peaceful resolution and increasing humanitarian aid to Gaza. He praised France's efforts, under President Macron's leadership, in pursuing a ceasefire and enhancing humanitarian assistance through various channels.

Acknowledging the need for sustained international support, King Abdullah stressed the importance of continuing aid to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), which provides vital assistance to approximately two million Palestinians in Gaza, many of whom are at risk of famine. He also highlighted UNRWA's essential services for Palestinian refugees in other areas of the region.

"We will continue to work with you, Mr. President, to address these developments and to expand our strategic partnership with France," the King affirmed.
