Spanish Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares stated that since Oct. 7, 2023, Spain has halted all arms exports to the Israeli occupation.

Albares clarified that UN facilities, schools, and hospitals in the Gaza Strip are being bombed, urging all parties to comply with the orders of the International Court of Justice.

He revealed Spain's invitation to an international peace conference based on the two-state solution.

He emphasized that Spain demands a permanent and immediate ceasefire in Gaza, pointing out that 27,000 Palestinians have been killed during the current war.

He expressed their unwillingness for the violence in the region to escalate, and it is incumbent upon them to do what they can to prevent that.

He praised Qatar's role in mediating to stop the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, also explaining that Spain wants a viable Palestinian state that coexists with "Israel."

He noted that October 7th made them realize the importance of a just and permanent solution to the issue of the Palestinian people.
