The Land Transport Regulatory Authority (LTRA) Director-General, Abdul Rahim Al-Wreikat  announced that the disbursement of fuel support for public transport operators for the month of October of the last quarter of the previous year will begin on Monday morning, Jan. 22.

Al-Wreikat explained that the deadline for disbursing this support will be on Thursday, Feb. 29.

He noted that this measure is based on the Cabinet's decision to support public transportation operators on passenger transport lines and taxi vehicles within the jurisdiction of the LTRA. He urged beneficiaries from operators to check with authorized companies to fill their vehicles with fuel according to the approved values on the specified date.

Al-Wreikat emphasized that the disbursement of these dues is part of the Jordanian government's plan to alleviate the impact of rising fuel prices on the operating costs of public passenger transportation.

This is achieved by not raising fares and bearing the costs by the government instead of citizens. This is done by disbursing the dues to operators through fueling according to the type of fuel used in transportation vehicles, through approved stations in each governorate.
