As part of their ongoing efforts to offer medical and humanitarian care to the residents of the Gaza Strip, the team from the Jordanian Field Hospital Gaza/78 performed a surgical procedure on Saturday to stabilize an open fracture in the lower femur (DISTAL FEMUR FX ORIF).

The hospital force commander mentioned that a specialized team of orthopedic and joint surgeons, along with anesthesiologists, conducted the operation. This month, the hospital has treated 5,064 cases, including 31 major surgeries, four minor surgeries, and one maternity case.

An orthopedic and joint surgeon explained that the patient had an open fracture at the bottom of the right femur, resulting in bone fragmentation and tissue damage.

The surgical team installed a metal plate and screws, and removed the external fixator. This operation took place at the Jordanian Field Hospital, which is the only operational hospital in the northern Gaza Strip.

The patient's family expressed their gratitude to His Majesty King Abdullah II, acknowledging the significant efforts of the Jordanian field hospital staff in mitigating the war's impact on the civilian population in Gaza.

Since beginning their mission in Gaza, the medical team from the Jordanian Field Hospital has treated a total of 3,475,393 cases among the local population.
