9,000 “Israeli soldiers” applied to receive mental health treatment since Oct. 7
According to data received by Hebrew Channel 13 regarding the number of injured “Israeli soldiers” who are currently receiving treatment since October 7 - approximately 3,221 soldiers required medical treatment since the beginning of the war, of which 2,438 required hospitalization, and about 9,000 applied to receive psychological and emotional counseling.
Channel 12 added that out of the 9,000 soldiers have applied for mental health care in specialized hospitals, around 75% of those who received mental health care have returned to combat.
1,713 soldiers have been wounded, requiring hospital treatment. The information also highlighted that the average evacuation time for wounded soldiers in Gaza is one hour and six minutes, significantly shorter than in previous wars.
It added that the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) estimates that “if the war extends to the northern front, medical treatment for soldiers will be more challenging.”
