Hunaiti reinforces border security measures in Eastern Military Zone inspection
The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Major General Yousef Ahmed Al-Hunaiti, emphasized the General Command of the Armed Forces' commitment to deploying all available resources and capabilities.
The objective is to equip border guard units with cutting-edge tools and technology, bolstering their capacity to effectively counter infiltration and smuggling attempts. This strategic move underscores a proactive approach by the military leadership to enhance the efficiency and prowess of border security operations.
This came during his inspection on Thursday of several border guard units affiliated with the Eastern Military Zone. This comes as part of ongoing efforts to monitor the readiness of formations and units of the armed forces in operational, training, and logistical domains.
Al-Hunaiti directed the reinforcement of the electronic border guard system with day and night surveillance cameras designed to operate in dense fog conditions. He also stressed the importance of bolstering air support and radar monitoring devices.
Furthermore, he instructed the development of plans and allocation of necessary resources for the construction of an electronic fence to prevent all forms of infiltration and smuggling, particularly during adverse weather conditions characterized by heavy fog and sandstorms.
During his tour of the Eastern Military Zone’s front, Al-Hunaiti reiterated the Jordanian Armed Forces’ (JAF) commitment to forcefully prevent infiltration and smuggling operations, confronting all threats along the border fronts. He emphasized that any attempt to undermine the nation's security, intimidate its citizens, and destabilize the kingdom will be met with resolute action.
During his visit to the border guard units, Al-Hunaiti conveyed the regards of His Majesty, the Supreme Commander. He commended the outstanding performance and high morale of the border guard units, recognizing their significant efforts in safeguarding various locations.
He praised the dedication of these units in standing united against anyone attempting to jeopardize the nation's security and stability, emphasizing the need for strength and determination in facing such challenges.
