29 premature babies who were evacuated from Al-Shifa Medical Complex in the Gaza Strip earlier on Sunday arrived in Egypt via the Rafah Border Crossing, as reported on Monday by “Cairo News”.

Premature babies were evacuated from Al-Shifa Complex, one of the largest hospitals in the Gaza Strip, after being overrun by the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) and turned into a military operations hub and being forcefully evicted of patients and medical staff.

Director-general of hospitals in Gaza, Mohammed Zaqout, confirmed Sunday that 31 premature babies had been evacuated from the Al-Shifa hospital. It is still not clear why only 29 of them arrived in Egypt.
