The President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Mirjana Spoljaric, called for a "halt to the escalation" in Gaza, emphasizing that the world "must not tolerate" what is happening in the region.

Spoljaric stated that it is "unacceptable for civilians to have no safe haven to turn to in Gaza amid the intensive shelling," adding that there is currently no sufficient humanitarian response possible, given the military blockade imposed on the Strip.

The High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, also called for a ceasefire in Gaza to allow for the delivery of humanitarian aid, emphasizing that the killing of a large number of civilians, including children, is a violation of international humanitarian law.

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) also warned of the desperate situation of Gaza's inhabitants, without electricity, food or water.

Borrell urged for a ceasefire in the targeting of Gaza to enable the delivery of humanitarian assistance.
