Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi, in a press conference with his German counterpart, said that “Israel’s” violations of international law cannot slide by with no accountability, and that it is the international community’s duty to protect its credibility regarding this issue.

Safadi urged the international community to exert more pressure on “Israel” to prevent the Middle East from spiraling into a new cycle of violence.

In remarks made in Berlin with German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock, Safadi reiterated that “Israeli” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu cannot be allowed to “steal attention away from Gaza” by seeking escalation with Iran.

He called on the international community to bear its ethical and humanitarian responsibilities towards the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) and support the organization, adding that no other country bears what Jordan bears towards refugees.

The Gaza Strip needs approximately 800 trucks daily to alleviate the catastrophic humanitarian situation, per Safadi, and that what has been entering the Strip after “Israel” opened two border crossings is still below the minimum.
