Jordan Baptist Church denounces Israeli Occupation's attack on Gaza Hospital
The Jordanian Baptist Church accused the Israeli Occupation of conducting a "brutal raid on innocent civilians" on Tuesday evening at the Baptist Hospital in Gaza. They affirmed that the Israeli Occupation policy "fails to distinguish between civilians and military personnel and targets everyone - Christians and Muslims - under the pretext of their Arab identity and devotion to their homeland."
The head of the Jordanian Baptist Church told Roya that the Israeli Occupation targeted the hospital, which is owned and operated by the Arab Evangelical Episcopal Church, aiming at "innocent civilians within its premises and its building."
He explained that hundreds of civilians sought refuge within the hospital from Israeli Occupation airstrikes.
The head called for "listening to the voice of wisdom and pursuing a rational international policy, a stance consistently advocated by His Majesty King Abdullah II, who always calls for the rights of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital along the entirety of the borders of June 4, 1967."
He declared that "the Jordanian Baptist Church raises its prayers to the Almighty to fill the hearts of the victims' families with solace during this grievous ordeal. With hearts united and lifted towards the Lord of Heaven, we beseech for an end to bloodshed in the cherished land of Palestine, the land of peace."
Earlier Tuesday, at least 810 people were killed in an Israeli Occupation airstrike on the Baptist Hospital in the central Gaza Strip, as reported by Roya's correspondent.
The correspondent in the region stated that the hospital was sheltering displaced individuals who had left their homes in the northern part of the strip after receiving orders from the Israeli Occupation.
