King reaffirms Jordan's support for two-state solution in call with Abbas
In a recent phone conversation with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, His Majesty King Abdullah II reaffirmed Jordan's unwavering stance on the Palestinian matter.
He emphasized the importance of establishing a political framework that ensures the realization of all rightful and equitable Palestinian aspirations.
His Majesty stressed that a just and comprehensive resolution to the Palestinian issue, based on the two-state solution, is imperative for achieving peace and stability.
This solution entails the creation of an independent, sovereign Palestinian state, with East Jerusalem as its capital, along the pre-1967 borders.
The King also highlighted the necessity of heightened Arab, regional, and global endeavors to de-escalate tensions in Gaza and its vicinity, urging restraint, protection of civilians, and adherence to international humanitarian laws.
