Khasawneh mourns passing of former Prime Minister Marouf Al-Bakhit

Prime Minister Bisher Al-Khasawneh mourned the passing of former Prime Minister Marouf Al-Bakhit who passed away earlier Saturday.

Born on March 18, 1947, in Mahes, Bakhit first served as Prime Minister from Nov. 27, 2005, to Nov. 25, 2007, and later from Feb. 9, 2011, to Oct. 17, 2011.

Bakhit joined the Jordanian Armed Forces (JAF) in 1964.

During his service, he earned a Bachelor's degree in Public Administration and Political Science from the University of Jordan.

He continued his studies, obtaining a Master's degree in Public Administration from the University of Southern California, and a Ph.D. from King's College.

Bakhit held (16) various ranks of honors.
