Jordan's fuel prices to rise in October

The Oil Derivatives Pricing Committee issued a decision Saturday to adjust fuel prices for the period extending from October 1 to October 31, 2023.

The committee stated that the price of 90-octane and 95-octane gasoline would increase by 15 fils per liter, and the price of diesel would increase by 25 fils per liter.

The selling price of 90-octane gasoline will be adjusted to 975 fils per liter, up from 960 fils per liter. The selling price of 95-octane gasoline will be adjusted to 1220 fils per liter, up from 1205 fils per liter. Additionally, the selling price of diesel will be adjusted to 825 fils per liter, up from 800 fils per liter.

The committee has decided to maintain the price of kerosene for the month of October 2023 at 620 fils per liter and to keep the price of a gas cylinder at JD 7 per cylinder.

An energy expert Amer Al-Shoubaki commented on this decision. He told Roya that this price hike marks the fifth this year.

He said that fuel prices may continue to rise in the coming months, potentially surpassing previous record highs in Jordan.
