Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky made headlines not for his speech at the recent United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) session, but due to an apparent editing mishap.

Media outlets in Ukraine released a video of Zelensky's UN address that had been edited to create the impression of a larger audience. However, keen observers spotted an unusual detail.

At the 0:14 mark, Zelensky himself can be seen in the audience during his own speech. This sparked a wave of reactions on social media, with many expressing a mix of amusement, confusion, and frustration over what some perceived as Ukrainian media's attempt at manipulation.

This editing error has also raised questions about the credibility of the Ukrainian media outlets responsible.

A social media user wrote on X: "Ukrainian media edited the audience for Zelensky’s speech at the UN to make it look like everyone was listening, including Zelensky himself."
