A car accident in Kuwait has led to the loss of two lives and injuries to two individuals, as reported by the Ministry of Interior of the Gulf nation.

The collision, a two-way crash, took place at 3:17 am on Thursday, according to an official statement from the ministry. The four individuals involved in the incident were swiftly transported to a hospital, where medical treatment was administered to the two who were injured.

Local media sources have identified the driver as Fatima Al Momen, a prominent 'fashionista' with a considerable following on social media platforms. Reports also suggest that she might have been under the influence of drugs during the time of the accident, although the ministry has yet to confirm this.

The statement released by the ministry reveals that an investigation indicated the presence of "intoxicating substances" in the systems of the injured driver and passenger. Additionally, the investigation found that the accident was caused by speeding and running a red light. Furthermore, it was revealed that the vehicle being operated by the driver had expired insurance.

Authorities have made the decision to detain Momen for a duration of 10 days, in preparation for her upcoming court appearance. The other occupant of the vehicle will be held in detention for a period of four days.

Following the Kuwaiti police's detention of the 30-year-old influencer, Al Momen's sister attempted to file a complaint against the deceased individuals, alleging harassment.
