The Ministry of Environment has taken a significant step towards environmental sustainability by granting licenses to specialized facilities focused on recycling used liquid acid batteries, as well as batteries from hybrid and electric vehicles.

According to official documents reviewed by "Roya," the ministry has issued guidelines directing the proper disposal of waste batteries.

It emphasized the importance of coordinating with the ministry to ensure that hazardous waste batteries are managed appropriately, either at the designated hazardous waste treatment center or at authorized entities.

These authorized facilities are dedicated to extracting lead from batteries or reassembling them for export, contributing to environmentally conscious practices in line with sustainable principles.

In addition to these measures, the ministry has identified a selection of licensed companies that specialize in recycling liquid batteries, collecting used acid batteries, and gathering batteries specifically from hybrid and electric vehicles.

This move signifies the Ministry of Environment's commitment to promoting responsible waste management and supporting the development of an environmentally friendly ecosystem in Jordan.
