Israeli Occupation Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Wednesday that his government is "ready for the possibility to expand the campaign" in the Gaza Strip.

Earlier Wednesday, sirens sounded in several settlements in the Israeli Occupation including Sderot, Ashkelon, Ibim, Nir Am, Mefalsim, Ashdod, Netivot, and other areas adjacent to the Gaza Strip, Roya's correspondent reported.

He said that the Palestinian resistance fired rockets from Gaza at the settlements bordering the Strip, noting that the Iron Dome intercepted a number of them.

He added that the Israeli Occupation warplanes launched three raids on the Gaza Strip, and bombed an empty land east of Khan Yunis.

Hebrew media reported that a direct hit occurred in the Sderot settlement, adding that aircraft movement at Lod Airport in Tel Aviv was halted due to the rockets fired from the Strip.

Some planes flew over the sea and might have to land in Cyprus, according to Hebrew media.

Hebrew media also reported that Tel Aviv witnessed explosions as a result of the Iron Dome intercepting missiles fired from Gaza, noting that missiles 'rained down' on the Ashkelon area.

This resulted in the collapse of telephone lines in Tel Aviv.

Residents of the Ashkelon settlement were rushed to the shelters opened by the Israeli Occupation authorities.
