A number of countries announced that Saturday, April 22, will be the first day of Eid al-Fitr.

The countries are Oman, Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Australia, Thailand, Singapore, and Japan.

However, Palestine, Kuwait, Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Turkey and the Sunni Endowment Office in Iraq announced that Friday, April 21, will be the first day of Eid al-Fitr.
