Monday, Turkish Airlines canceled 170 flights in Istanbul, including 152 via Istanbul Airport and 18 via Sabiha Gokcen Airport, due to bad weather.

Notably, the Turkish authorities suspended school for the primary and secondary years in Ankara and Istanbul Monday,  due to the unstable weather conditions.

In a statement, the governors of Istanbul and Ankara had earlier announced  that the two cities decided to suspend school for one day.

Istanbul and Ankara are expecting strong storms as well as heavy rainfall and snow, which will interrupt citizens and residents' daily routines.
